For several years I have build up a Multimedia
System for a "One man production Studio".
I migrated all systems to Apple systems. This system is connected over a wireless network 300Mbps
to the ADSL 20Mbps network from Bluewin. Also a 1Gbps Ethernet
is implemented.
The reason why I use 4 machines is to distribute
the work to several machines. E.g. Rendering the Edgar Alan Poe Animation
took 19 hours on one machine! If you have several machines rendering time
is reduced dramatically. Also you can work on a movie on one machine
and three others are rendering ( called rendering farm). I use this with
Cinema 4D Studio, Vue 6 Infinite and Bryce.
Last but not least you can use the different machines
for backup! So it seems silly to have so many
computers for one person but it shows you over time all the advantages.
